About this place
Just outside Koiwa Station, Den-en preserves the unhurried atmosphere of the Showa era as a traditional pure kissaten (jun-kissaten). Plush sofa booths and tables set deeper inside offer a calm, grounded retreat whenever you need a breather.
For a light bite, the egg sandwich served with gently warmed fillings is an easy go-to, as is the morning toast set accompanied by a boiled egg and coffee. Diners looking for a fuller midday meal will find kissaten staples such as omurice paired with coffee or black tea, or a substantial ginger pork bento rounded out with side dishes and miso soup.
Beyond yoshoku standards like Spaghetti Neapolitan, pilaf, and curry rice, the bill of fare spans classic sweets—including cheesecake and hotcakes—alongside milkshakes and ice cream floats. Note that the entire establishment allows smoking, and payment is accepted in cash only.
